Eshen was actually Command, technically, and he did speak with an air of calm confidence, albeit with a softer and more amicable tone than a steely-faced commander would, which was partially his nature and partially that he didn't want to freak out the pilot any more than he already was.
"Sauk is fixing the COMMs unit using tricorder parts, but fixing the console would be good, too."
Eshen glanced over at the panicked pilot. He felt sympathy for the man, but at this point it was clear he needed space to calm down a bit before they could rely on him to do his job again.
"We all learned how to fly a bit in Basic Navigation, right? I mean, I'm no ace pilot but I could move the ship in a straight line from point A to B if it came down to it, I suppose."
Eshen looked away from the pilot and around at everyone in the room. "Other than that, what we need most is power to the warp core. If we manage to reboot it using... Engineering knowhow or something, we could start trundling our way back to the station, at least. Could we jump-start it with a big enough power source? Those EMP mines would be a great source if they weren't, you know, explosive. Does anyone around here have a steel thumb? I certainly don't."
