Star Trek: Eventide 777
USS Sebastion / bridge
Avatar
Narrator BOT 30-Apr-22 02:17 PM
Shortly behind the Viola the Sebastion popped out, it flew at a slightly slower speed but the pilot kept pace well. The pilot found a spot to dock right next to the Viola. The pilot looked over the controls, the ship was just as nice as always, though it was certainly a product of the past. The ship was 40 something year old now and had seen a lot of service in that time. Still the starfleet maintenance teams had done well to keep the two ships in tact.

In all honesty, Zoe hadn't really expected to be deployed onto the Sebastion - and to be more honest, she didn't mind, either. Between the enormity of space, and witnessing it again all over again - it just filled her with a certain type of child-like awe. The Ensign was on the bridge - as this was an extraordinarily small vessel, and she hadn't quite known where to go. It wasn't like she was expecting the crew to act up on what was essentially a milk run, anyways. What this was, was essentially, just an excuse to take it easy while the science buffs gathered their samples.

The Lieutenant ran into the helm just in time and quickly ran through his checklist. He was sent with science to help manage this part of the mission. He was glad to have made it just in time. He quickly COMMed over to the Commander. "The Sebastion is ready on your mark sir."
21:20
Upon orders he pulled the ship out, following closely behind the other ship.

The ship slowed down behind the Viola, now insight of the planet Meridian. Meridian was a similar planet to Earth before but now it appears as though the sea level may have been lowered, the atmosphere at eye level appeared more dense than before though, life had survived worse in the past. Several volcanos had also gone on to be formed now giving it the appearance of almost a cross between Earth and Vulcan.

He put grinded the ship to a haul just behind sebastion. Seeing all the debris he couldn't help but audible gasp. He had always been Squamish and seeing this he needed to... he needed to run to the bathroom now. He got up and sprinted out of his seat...

Ensign Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 01-May-22 09:20 PM
Eshen walked into the bridge, saw all the corpses. He stared at them all for a moment. He'd seen battlefields in his Klingon warsims... But this was real. Real people were dead. Eshen still had no fear response - that emotion was thoroughly Surak'd away - but he certainly felt a sense of unease, and even sadness. He had always been attuned to people, so he could imagine the suffering these people went through when... What exactly happened here, anyway? He'd expected to find bodies on the planet if they went there, but space? And all the debris, from some large ship or station... He could theorise later, as a sudden thought occurred to him: he absolutely could not let Sauk see this. Besides, that guy might still need help. With a sigh, he turned on his heel and briskly left the bridge.

Only a few seconds later the EMP blast hit the pilot-less ship, disabling every piece of equipment on board instantly. The ship was set adrift, with no way to contact anyone else...

“Fuck, fuck , fuck, fuck…WHERE’S THE PILOT?” Sauk was falling, falling down…he spotted the other ship. No…no…no…

As Shoe sprinted in behind Sauk, the poor Vulcjoran fell into a chair, tears flowing down his face like a faucet. “No!” He sobbed, grabbing at his own wrists and squeezing, hard. “No, no, no, please…”

The pilot crawled his way back onto the ship. He still felt quezy but he didn't have time for that. He needed to jam on the controls to put this ship in high gear... "Let's get the hell out of here..." He jammed on the engine but nothing happened. Every system on the ship was out. There wasn't a lick of electricity left flowing through the ship. "That's not good..."

Cadet Sauk Tral | OPS BOT 01-May-22 10:47 PM
He couldn’t take his eyes off the veiwscreen as he slipped further into a panicked state. What a pathetic excuse for an officer. What a fucking joke. Here he was, safe and unscathed, sobbing like a child because his boyfriend might be hurt. He wasn’t hearing words anymore, wasn’t feeling, everything was tuned out except for visual input.

Ensign Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 01-May-22 10:56 PM
"The Engineers, or people with skills adjacent to that, should take a look, see if it's possible to... Hotwire the system or something. Maybe if we get Comms back online we can get the Viola to tow us, if they aren't as messed up as we are, somehow." Eshen walked over to the console to check if life support was still online, realised it wouldn't tell him a damn thing until the electricity was back on, so instead kneeled in front of Sauk, seeing as the pilot seemed to be holding himself together for the moment. "Sauk... Sauk, I know." He must be worried about Jack, and, you know, literally everything else going on. Eshen had little more to say for the moment. Better to let the boy cry it all out 'til he was needed again.
Avatar
Cadet Sauk Tral | OPS BOT 01-May-22 10:59 PM
He should be helping, he should be doing something… He stood up, straightened his uniform, and, through blurry eyes, walked over to the communications unit and popped it open, kneeling in front of it. “Eshen,” He said in a shaky voice. “Is your tricorder still working?” He was sobbing silently as he worked, but they were in the dark, and so it was almost imperceptible except for his occasional hiccup or the shudder of his shoulders. He placed Shoe in his lap, grateful for the pressure, and started thinking about the problem.

Ah, the ol' power through the tears. Big mood. Or, well, to someone who cried more than once every five years it would be. "It's a separate power source, so should be. Did you need it?" Eshen held out his tricorder.

Okay, so, maybe Zoe had zoned out when she started seeing corpses through the view port - but...maybe, well...maybe it was a lot. By the time that she'd shaken it off, she was probably the last to be privy to the fact that the power had gone out. The Cyborg slicked her rubber-sillicone tipped palm across her chrome dome, before breaking away from the wall, and walking forth. "Okay, okay, okay. You got this. You got this. Put your shit in a box and get it together." Zoe would look about for a moment, before finding her voice again. "What's our status!" The Cyborg projected her voice this time in an attempt to at least appear confident.

Walking calmly through the corridors, Renakir in his element. He headed straight for the bridge, wanting to see what was going on. Dodging the random human who had puked on the ground, the Romulan-Reman hybrid soon arrived onto the bridge. And that is when he saw the bodies. Renakir's bright silver Reman eyes widened at the site of the floating corpses, his mouth hanging open as he let out an audible gasp. He didn't have much time to stare because there was a cyborg ensign struggling at her console. "Communications are down. All power is down. We are adrift, ensign," The Romulan-Reman boy walked towards Zoe and began examining the equipment around her. Dead consoles, zero lighting, it reminded him of when he was on a Reman warbird, about to flee for his life. He shook his head and pushed those thoughts aside, this was different, his crew needed him. "Are you alright, ensign?" He turned to the cyborg. They were not acquainted, but perhaps now was the best time if any.

Lieutenant Morris Megill | NPC BOT 02-May-22 11:28 PM
The man kept slamming the controls, he was acting a little bit frantically. The small ship was making him claustrophobic, a bad trait for a pilot in his situation to have. Finally he started ripping at the conn controls, removing the yoke from where it normally is. "Piece of shit ship, let me the fuck out of here. I can't stand being a long here." He slammed the yoke against the console as he continued to freak out.

Ensign Zoe Barnes | SEC BOT 02-May-22 11:42 PM
"Adrift." Adrift. That's a way of putting it. Her whole life felt like it had been 'adrift'. Now it was literally 'adrift'. It took her a moment to catch the question, and nonexistent muscles in her face struggled for a second to pull off a strained grin with a metal face that no longer could. "Right..." Choosing not to answer the question, the Cyborg would let out a nervous chuckle - before the Lieutenant's frantic shenanigans catch her attention. "Restrain him. He's panicking, and damage to the console could keep us here longer." Her voice becomes severe, after a second. She's just trying to keep calm - and...maybe a hardass is what they need, anyways. She could hardly do worse than the Lieutenant in this situation, could she?

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 02-May-22 11:48 PM
He watched the illogical human struggling at the helm briefly before turning his attention back to the cyborg as she spoke. He noted her avoidance to his question, furrowing his brows ever so slightly. *Restrain him, As soon as he heard those words he sprang into action and quickly darted to the pilot and grabbed his arms. Restraining a human was an easy task for this Romulan-Reman hybrid who performed this action in a swift motion. He hardly seemed fazed by any of this, his face the look of calm.* "Sir, please cease your destructive behaviour, we must find a way to establish communications again." His voice was stern as he spoke to the man, his French accent ever present in his speech.
Avatar
Lieutenant Morris Megill | NPC BOT 02-May-22 11:52 PM
The man swang around and tried his best to get free, even at points trying to hit the Reman. "No, No you've got to let me leave! I can't breath! Agh all the oxygen is gone." The man was delusional. Then he finally decided to bite the arm restraining him. He then ran off to go cower in a corner, breathing heavily in his little place. He was clearly scared and in an unfamiliar situation which triggered a primitive part of his brain.

Ensign Zoe Barnes | SEC BOT 03-May-22 12:00 AM
It seemed like the most logical thing to do at the time. Restrain the panicking pilot. Seems that it wasn't exactly executed to perfection - but at least that maniac wasn't tearing up the console anymore. "Animals, I swear." The cyborg grumbles a little - now feeling more contempt than sympathy for suddenly delusional Pilot. Maybe it was everything else pushing in on her. "Leave him be for now. I don't think we even have a brig - and as long as he isn't trying to rip the starship apart, we have no reason to resort to violence. Just keep an eye on him." A tired sounding sigh exits the Cyborg. Really, she's just using her best 'commander' voice that she can muster, based off of how she'd seen command act from time to time. It's the best she can do to make decisions without second guessing herself. "Now. Since I can see pretty clearly in the dark, what do you need me to do to restore power? Does anyone have any ideas?" The drawing board was open - and she was hoping like hell that it wouldn't be up to her to figure out how to turn on the power.

Ensign Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 03-May-22 12:35 AM
Eshen was actually Command, technically, and he did speak with an air of calm confidence, albeit with a softer and more amicable tone than a steely-faced commander would, which was partially his nature and partially that he didn't want to freak out the pilot any more than he already was. "Sauk is fixing the COMMs unit using tricorder parts, but fixing the console would be good, too." Eshen glanced over at the panicked pilot. He felt sympathy for the man, but at this point it was clear he needed space to calm down a bit before they could rely on him to do his job again. "We all learned how to fly a bit in Basic Navigation, right? I mean, I'm no ace pilot but I could move the ship in a straight line from point A to B if it came down to it, I suppose." Eshen looked away from the pilot and around at everyone in the room. "Other than that, what we need most is power to the warp core. If we manage to reboot it using... Engineering knowhow or something, we could start trundling our way back to the station, at least. Could we jump-start it with a big enough power source? Those EMP mines would be a great source if they weren't, you know, explosive. Does anyone around here have a steel thumb? I certainly don't." (edited)

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 03-May-22 01:01 AM
He was trying to restrain the man before he felt a sharp pain shoot through his arm. Like a good Romulan under pressure he didn't scream, but he did release the man. All of this whilst Barnes and Eshen were chatting away to try and actually get things running again. 'Jump start the engine', 'navigation', Renakir was listening to everything, but he was still trying to restrain the delusional pilot. Thankfully the bite didn't cause much damage and he could ignore the pain, but he had to get this man off the bridge. "I will escort Lieutenant Megill off the bridge and head to engineering. Seeing how turbolifts and transporters are closely related to engineering, I probably have the best shot at it. Plus I don't need light to work,"Renakir stated as he pulled the panicked Lieutenant up from his seat, arms restrained. His grip was firm but it was clear he did not intend to hurt the other. He may have been from two rather savage races, but he was a gentle giant.

Lieutenant Morris Megill | NPC BOT 03-May-22 01:04 AM
The delusional Lieutenant screamed, he was really starting to lose all understanding of reality. He couldn't see at all and was scared, his mind was simply filling in gaps in random ways. "Ahhhh the ghosts are trying to take me hostage. You'll never take me alive!" He took a fast and hard swing with his fist at Renakir and tried to run away into the command module.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 03-May-22 01:11 AM
Illogical as all hell was the only thing Renakir could think in his mind. Had this been any other situation, he probably would have been greatly offended being called a 'ghost'. It wasn't the first time he had been called names on duty though and he could see this human was not in his right mind. The punch came as surprise, but thankfully Renakir had the high ground here and was able to narrowly dodge the man's fist and stepped back. He made a lunge towards Megill to try and restrain him again, being mindful that the man would probably continue to 'throw hands', for a terran term. "Sir, Calm down. You are a Starfleet officer on a starship currently adrift. I am not a ghost," He stated with the highest level of calm and professionalism he could muster as he struggled with getting the pilot's arms under control again.
Avatar
Lieutenant Morris Megill | NPC BOT 03-May-22 01:19 AM
The man kept his eyes wide as he pulsated back and forth. He tried his best to lightly breath in. "Aghhhh small spaces scare me! There is no escape... we are trapped. Just let me be..." He tried twisted his shoulder in an attempt to get free, when that didn't work he kneed the Reman hard in the stomach.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 03-May-22 01:22 AM
That really did it, Renakir fell backwards when he was kneed. He turned to the side so he could cough, no blood though, this time. But this meant there was no one to restrain the pilot. "Help!" He exclaimed loud enough to fill the room before he continued his coughing fit. This was not going well at all, these fumking humans and their illogical ways.

It was hard work, he hadn’t been paying attention to anything else, but finally, he was pretty sure he got it. At least somewhat. Maybe they could contact the station! Any systems working was a win, right? He leaned back and lay on the ground, exhausted. “I think I did it,”

Eshen walked over to the pilot, checked if he was injured any more than a hit on the head, and then judging that he wasn't and it would be safe to move him, he picked him up and handed him to Zoe as though he were light as a sleeping kitten. She was security, and she looked pretty strong - she was a cyborg or something, right? She could handle this man. "Zoe, could you take our pacified pilot to somewhere in Engineering he can't press any buttons he shouldn't be and babysit him? I think the doctor is in there and he needs to be checked for a concussion. It would be good to know if our only doctor is doing okay, anyway. Renakir is going in there too, but he needs to focus on fixing the ship." Eshen gave the sleeping pilot, presumably in Zoe's arms, a pat on the shoulder. "Be nice to him - he's clearly in distress - but firm. We don't need violence on this ship, we have enough problems already." Eshen turned to Sauk. "Well done, Sauk! Although we still need power, unless you integrated the tricorder's battery somehow? Do you think that'll be enough to contact the station?"
Avatar
Cadet Sauk Tral | OPS BOT 03-May-22 05:54 PM
“The battery? Of course!” Sauk smacked his forehead.^ “On it. I’ll see if I can hook it up somehow…maybe we can get a signal out, if I can,” *He nodded, picking up the discarded battery and going back to the COMMs unit, looking for a way to connect it.

"Alright. Well, I don't imagine it'll be the strongest signal, but the station has powerful scanners, right? If we can manage the tiniest ping on their radar, they'll know where we are." Eshen looked around, then at the floor, then wrinkled his nose again. "I'm going to... Look for cleaning supplies, I suppose..."

And debris does imply it's very much lifeless and non-operational, unless there's a chunk floating around we can't see through all the Nebula. Station Icarus, drawing too much power from the sun."

[Comms] “Well, ship or station. Those bodies are still out there and since you’re still in space somehow, and you’re gonna be first on the rescue list. You’re in the same amount of danger as your sister research ship. Just how much air do you think you’ve got left gliding about in space like a hockey puck? I’d rather not have your bodies floating out there too. Are you able to get any other systems back online with that battery of yours?”

[Comms] "Renakir to bridge, life support is back online-- and i rerouted auxiliary power, but i don't know how long it can hold up,," And just like that the lights on the bridge switched on!

[Comms] "We might have a couple of hours, so I thought that would be better than the amount of time a crash victim might - oh, there we go!"

[Comms] "Sorry, systems down again, the flight systems still offline. We are still immobile . Im working, but it seems we only had systems for a few seconds. I can keep the lights on and life support at least."

We’ll compromise here because you’ve suffered enough. You have emergency lighting and minimal power, you’re still trapped in space but you don’t have to use the tricorder battery anymore! However you better use that emergency power wisely because if you attempt to route more power than you have into systems, something really bad could happen!

[Comms] “What happening? There goes what?” Mona asked frantically trying to figure out if something terrible was happening.

[Comms] "Woo indeed." Renakir was about to say something else before the lights flickered, something out of a horror film. "Actually, I can't guarantee the lights." (edited)

[Comms] "Just life support, right? We still can't get our coords from the consoles?"

[Comms] "Flight systems and Navigation are offline, we have partial power for lights, comms, and science," Heavy breathing could be hear through the comms, Renakir was really trying over here, but the knee to the stomach from earlier made it all the more difficult to contort into weird positions to fix wires. "But life support is stable," The lights flickered again. (edited)

Sauk made his way over to Eshen, Shoe perched on his shoulder, blue eyes tracking the people on the bridge as the Cadet reached his friend. “Umm- maybe we should try getting scanners? That way we can be watching for Eventide,” He suggested, picking nervously at his thumbnail. It appeared that successfully restoring COMMs had done nothing for his confidence, and he was still on the brink of a breakdown.

Well, Eshen had enough confidence for the both of them - in himself, and in Sauk, especially after what he'd accomplished even in the midst of a panic attack. While everyone else was in various different states of panic, despair or calm, Eshen felt only pride. He hadn't done much except come up with the battery thing, house cleaning, and tell a few people what to, so he hoped at least his calm attitude would help Sauk and the others keep stable. "Sounds like a good idea. I think that's in the #command-module." (edited)

“Okay, got it,” Sauk nodded, trying a few steady breaths as Shoe purred in his ear. “I’m not an engineer, though…I can’t do much to help…”

"You're more of an engineer than me. But it should be fine; scanning isn't broken and power is on in that area, so it should be a matter of pressing buttons. Do you want to come?"

Cadet Sauk Tral | OPS BOT 05-May-22 06:28 PM
“Sure,” Sauk said, having nothing better to do. He started to follow Eshen, casting one last glance at the space around them before moving Shoe to his arms and following into #command-module .

The Sebastion wobbled slightly as it was seemingly locked onto by a tractor beam.

The Sebastion began moving in an unknown direction, dragged by the tractor beam. It was only a matter of time before multiple shuttlecraft showed up and began helping to push it towards its destination, the Eventide.

The Sebastion was soon forcefully docked to one of the Eventide's evacuation corridors, and damage control teams were quick to cut open its airlock so the crew could leave. The occupants of the Sebastion were greeted by Medical officers to check them over, and were quickly evacuated onto the Eventide via #ship-airlocks.
